FAQs

Session details

Each session lasts 50 minutes and is usually scheduled at the same time each week, providing consistency and structure to support your journey. Appointments are held weekly unless we decide you need more than one session a week. I do not offer less frequent sessions as I believe it affects the effectiveness of therapy. A minimum of 6 sessions is advised. Sessions are available face-to-face and online to suit your preferences.

What happens in the first session?

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask some questions about your background and what’s brought you to therapy, and we’ll discuss your hopes and expectations. This is also a chance to see if you feel comfortable working with me - finding the right fit is important, and there’s no obligation to continue after this initial meeting.

What are your session fees, and how do I pay?

Each 50-minute session is £70. Payment is due at the end of each session and can be made by cash, bank transfer. I will send you an invoice following each session.

Do you offer any concessions or reduced fees?

I offer a limited number of concessionary places for students, those on low incomes or experiencing financial hardship. These are discussed on a case-by-case basis. Please note that concession places are limited and subject to availability.

What is your cancellation policy regarding fees?

I require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations to avoid charges. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur the full session fee, and missed appointments without notice are charged at the full rate. This policy ensures I can maintain consistent availability for all clients and sustain the therapeutic framework.

What is your confidendiality policy?

All sessions are conducted in strict confidence. Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance. Everything discussed in our sessions remains confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your explicit written consent. The only exceptions are if there is an immediate risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or if required by law (such as court orders). In these rare circumstances, I would discuss this with you first wherever possible.

What happens if I arrive late to my session?

If you arrive late to your session, we will still begin our work together, but the session will end at the originally scheduled time. This means that arriving late will result in a shorter session, but you will still be charged the full fee. This policy maintains the therapeutic framework and ensures that other clients’ appointments are not affected.

Where do you see clients?

I hold my face-to-face sessions in Hammermith Therapy Rooms, 34 Studland Street, London W6 0JS. I also offer online sessions.
